James Posted February 6, 2003 Author Report Share Posted February 6, 2003 DVT - Deep Vein Thrombosis - blood clotting in the veins of the inner thigh or legINR - International Normalised Ratio - an INR of 1 is assigned to the time is takes for normal (unmedicated) blood to clot.PE - Pulmonary Embolism - blood clot in the pulmonary artery of the lung PSD - Protein S Deficiency - a rare condition that can cause thrombosisTIA - Transient Ischaemic Attack - a temporary paralysis, numbness, speech difficulty or other neurologic symptom that starts suddenly and recovers within 24 hours (typically resolves over several hours).
